Slovenians back to pre-Covid travel habits

BusinessTravels

This summer more than half of Slovenians travelled and for the first time since the pandemic they mostly travelled abroad. Croatia remained the most popular destination, having been the choice of 70% of tourists travelling abroad.

Slovenians spent more than 13 million nights vacationing in the summer, including 2.6 million nights in Slovenia, show Statistics Office data.

A private trip took six nights on average, though travellers chose a shorter stay of three nights in Slovenia and eight nights abroad.

On trips abroad most tourists rented accommodation, while in Slovenia they most often stayed in their holiday homes or with friends and family.

Slovenians on average spent EUR 67 per day on private trips, EUR 78 if travelling around Slovenia. Business trip expenses were around EUR 130 per day.

Most one day trips were to Croatia and Italy.
