Investment Banks Interested in Slovenia's Dollar Bond Issue
Among others, the minister met IMF director for Europe Reza Moghadam and other IMF representatives, to whom the delegation accompanying Šušteršič presented the planned reforms.
However, "due to their recent visit to Slovenia, they were well informed about the situation in the country," the minister said. The delegation also met WB representatives.
The minister said that responses to the planned reforms were positive. Some representatives were also interested in political risks if the reforms do not go through.
The Slovenian embassy in Tokyo moreover hosted a dinner for Japanese business representatives and Šušteršič said that they showed "quite an interest in cooperation",
"Great interest was also shown by investment bank representatives in Slovenia's dollar bond issue in the US and London," the minister said. More details will be known next week, when the issue will be presented to potential investors.
The minister also held several meetings to enquire about other countries' experience in bond issue on Asian markets. "This is one of the possibilities we will carry out, but definitely not this year."
