The slightly tweaked budget proposal for 2013 puts revenue at EUR 8.611bn and expenditure at EUR 9.620bn, while the budget for 2014 envisages EUR 8.409bn in revenue and EUR 9.317bn in expenditure, the Government Communication Office said.

The decision follows two weeks of debate by all National Assembly working bodies. Hundreds of amendments were tabled but they were all rejected at the final session of the Finance and Monetary Policy Committee.

The bills will now be forwarded to the committee before being put to a plenary.
