Unemployment Rate Broadly Flat in September
A total of 808,317 people were in employment in Slovenia in September, almost as many as in August and 2% fewer than in September 2011, the latest report from the Statistics Office shows.
Since January the registered jobless rate decreased by one percentage point, but the office expects the figure to rise again somewhat in the final months of the year, just like in the previous years.
Since the number of people in employment only dropped by around 100 from August, the unemployment rate decreased mainly due to a fall in the number of the unemployed; 400 fewer men and 230 fewer women than in August were registered as unemployed in September.
The construction industry saw the number of jobs fall by 600 and 400 fewer people in employment were registered in the insurance sector in September, while the number rose by nearly 1,000 in education at the start of school year
