The defeat was expected considering the dominance of Real in the group stage and the fact that Olimpija travelled to Madrid with only ten players.

The game concludes this year's Euroleague campaign for the Ljubljana club, which finished with a 3:7 record in Group A.

Next year will be the first in twelve years in which Olimpija does not have a secured spot in Europe's strongest basketball competition.

They will have to earn a berth with performances in the regional Aba league. Only the Aba league winner will make it to the Euroleague.
