Budget revenue was EUR 7.88bn, compared to the EUR 7.94bn in the supplementary budget for the year, whereas expenditure amounted to EUR 8.99bn, slightly less than the EUR 9.01bn budgeted.

The primary deficit (excluding interest revenue and expenditure) was EUR 507m, half what it was in the year before, mostly on account of austerity measures.

Finance Minister Janez Šušteršič said last week that the budget deficit was estimated at about 3.1% of GDP, with the deficit according to the European ESA95 methodology at 4% of GDP.
