After more than six hours of negotiations, the two ministers announced that France Arhar of Slovenia and Zdravko Rogić of Croatia, financial experts tasked with finding a solution to the issue, had completed their work.

Erjavec and Pusić said now was the time for political talks and said they would meet again, expectedly on 19 February in Croatia, to see what their respective governments and MPs think of the proposed solution.

Refusing to go into details as to what the solution might be, the ministers merely said that it brought no harm to anyone but benefited both sides. Pusić labelled it "innovative".

If the solution is implemented, Slovenia will not be the last to ratify Croatia's EU Accession Treaty, Erjavec said.
