Perpetuum Jazzile manager Boštjan Usenik, told the press on Friday that the group would stage 15 concerts in the US, among others in the cities of Cleveland, Joliet and Milwaukee that have a strong Slovenian community.

"The halls where we will perform can accommodate 1,000 or 2,000 people," he said. The group will also appear on the morning programme of Fox TV.

"The tour will be quite intense, as we will travel 8,000 kilometres in 23 days," said Usenik. Between September and December, the group will go on a 20-concert tour of Germany.

The beginnings of Perpetuum Jazzile go back to 1983, when the group was established with the name of Gaudeamus. Today, the group with members from across Slovenia performs popular and jazz music.

While being popular in Slovenia for years, Perpetuum Jazzile became an international sensation when their a cappella rendering of Toto's 1980s hit "Africa" hit Youtube in 2009 and has been seen by more than 14m viewers since.
