Anti-Establishment Protest to Be Held in Ljubljana
One of the organisers of the protest, the All-Slovenian Uprising Committee, has said that despite the no-confidence vote, the main demand of the movement has not yet been met - the resignation of "the incompetent and corrupt political elites".
This is why the protesters, who will gather at the central Congress Square at 3 PM, will call for an early election.
They expect the emerging new government to set the date of the election, otherwise the protests will continue until this happens.
The Committee for a Fair and Equitable Society, a civil society group, said yesterday that PM-designate Alenka BratuĊĦek should come to the protest and publicly promise that a snap poll would be held this year.
Several posters and graffiti inviting people to attend today's protests were seen throughout Ljubljana in the past few days, and a 20-metre banner was hung off the Ljubljana Castle tower yesterday before the police removed it.
Like the previous protests, today's event will be accompanied by a Protestival, a rally organised by artists against the elites. Its programme will feature performances by several well-known bands.
After a procession around the city centre, the protesters will this time not gather at the Square of the Republic but will return to the Congress Square.
So far about 5,000 people announced their attendance on Facebook.
