Ratification of Croatia's EU Accession Highlight of Parliament Session
The vote on Croatia's EU Accession Treaty will headline what will be a three-day session, with lawmakers to be off for Easter Friday and Easter Monday.
The ratification will require an absolute two-thirds majority, Parliamentary Speaker Janko Veber said after the college of deputy group leaders determined the agenda of the session on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the session will begin with lawmakers officially confirming the terms of new MPs who will assume the seats vacated by ministers in the new government.
Former ministers in the previous government Andrej Vizjak, Vinko Gorenak, Zvonko Černač, Ljudmila Novak and Franc Bogovič will meanwhile return to their deputy posts, while former PM Janez Janša and former economic minister Radovan Žerjav have announced they will be retiring from parliament.
Also on Wednesday, PM Alenka Bratušek is scheduled to take part in questions time, her first since taking office on Wednesday.
On Thursday, MPs will take a revote on changes to the small business act which introduce voluntary membership of the Chamber of Trade Crafts and Small Business (OZS). The changes were vetoed by the upper chamber of parliament earlier in March and sent back to the National Assembly which can overturn the veto with an absolute majority.
MPs will also debate in a fast-track procedure changes to loan to Hellenic republic act, consumer loans act and inheritance of agricultural holdings act.
