Super Tina to Enter Olympic Season With New Coach
Magoni, who was Maze's coach for the past three years, has cited wanting to be closer to his family as the reason for switching teams after Maze's record-breaking World Cup season.
The news of Magoni's departure was confirmed by head coach of Team to aMaze, Andrea Massi, who announced that the team already has a candidate to replace the 50-year-old Italian expert.
Massi told Sportal that the name of Magoni's successor would remain a secret until "he is released from the contract with his current team".
Moreover, Massi rued the departure of the Italian coach, but said that he understood his decision. "I'm being completely frank in saying that I wish him the best of luck in his new job."
The 29-year-old Maze broke a series of records en route to becoming Slovenia's first ever World Cup overall champion in the past season.
Winning 11 races and 13 other podium places, she racked up a massive 2,414 points, smashing the record of Austria's Herman Maier who in 1999/2000 tallied 2,000 points.
