"I believe that we can and will solve our problems ourselves," Bratušek told CNN, stressing that Slovenia is "absolutely" not Cyprus.
"Our banking system is smaller than Cyprus's," the prime minister said.
With regards to government plans for a reform of the Slovenian economy, Bratušek said that Slovenia would continue with the consolidation of public finances, privatisation and the project of the bad bank.
"That is our plan and I know that the most important thing now in Slovenia is the banking system."
Bratušek also commented on the recession in Slovenia, highlighting that Slovenia is not an isolated island but is in the middle of Europe. "Our public debt is considerably lower than EU average, and so is the unemployment rate," she stressed.
