Hotels Expecting Good Business for May Holidays

Nekategorizirano

Hotels in the capital of Ljubljana expect an average 40-50% occupancy on the night from 30 April to 1 May, according to the SPIRIT agency for entrepreneurship, innovation, development, investment and tourism.

The municipality of Piran, which also includes the seaside resort of Portorož, is recording a daily increase in interest, and expects a good occupancy rate during the May holidays. In the period from 25 to 28 April, their visitors were Italians, while Slovenian, Austrian and German guests are expected from 1 to 5 May.

Hotels at the Slovenian coast recorded nearly 150,000 overnight stays in the first quarter of this year, indicating a 6% rise against the same period last year.

More visitors than last year are hoped for also in one of Slovenia's top Alpine tourism spots, Kranjska Gora, where a bike park will open by 1 May.

The hotels at the lake-side resort of Bled are also happy with visitor numbers; due to the European teakwon-do championship the hotels were fully booked from 22 to 29 April. In the night from 30 April to 1 May there will be some spare rooms but for the weekend from 3 to 5 May most hotels will be almost fully booked by visitors from Italy, Serbia, Germany and Croatia.

According to the Slovenian natural spa association, Slovenian thermal spas are expecting a fair bit of visitors. In line with trends from the last few years, most bookings will probably be last-minute. Most spas will also open their outdoor pools this week, therefore a rise in daily visitors is expected as well.
