Chamber of Commerce Sees Investment Opportunities in Africa

At the event, several ambassadors talked about their countries, after which more than 200 individual meetings took place. The conference was attended by 80 Slovenian business representatives.

Liberian Ambassador Wesley Johnson told the Slovenian officials that his country was rich in raw materials and that it was safe for foreign investments. He sees potential for Slovenian companies in communication, construction and energy.

Nigerian Ambassador Chief Eddy Onuoha said there was potential for Slovenian companies in Nigeria in energy, oil and gas, as well as agriculture, waste management, maritime, banking and finance, tourism, pharmacy, health care and ICT.

Ambassador of South African Republic Xolisa Mfundiso Mabhongo said his country was rich in natural resources and politically and economically stable, with a developed financial system, and transport and logistics infrastructure. South Africa is also an important tourist destination.

Quayea Kumaha of the Ghanaian Embassy told the conference that the biggest investment opportunities in Ghana lie in the industries related to oil and gas, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, tourism, manufacturing and services (ICT, financial services and education).
