Pahor will begin his first official visit in Zagreb as president at 11 AM when he is to be received by Josipović. After one-on-one talks, the presidents will sign the presidential declaration and address the press.

In the afternoon, Pahor is scheduled to meet Croatian parliamentary Speaker Josip Leko. He will also visit the Croatian National Archives and the Zagreb Metropolitan Library.

On Wednesday, the president will hold a meeting with Croatian PM Zoran Milanović (10 AM) and then address a Slovenian-Croatian business conference together with Josipović, Samo Hribar Milič of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Nadan Vidošević of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The president's visit wants to underscore the importance of Croatia as Slovenia's future partner in the EU and highlight the achieved quality of bilateral dialogue and cooperation, Pahor's office said in a statement ahead of the visit.

Pahor's visit to Croatia is expected to open a new chapter in cooperation between the countries, although the pair will probably face questions regarding the continuation of lawsuits in Croatia against Slovenia and the LB bank and its successor, NLB, despite the two countries agreeing that proceedings will be suspended.

Pahor has announced he would visit Croatia at least three times this year. In addition to this week's visit, he will visit Zagreb at the end of June to attend celebrations of Croatia's EU accession, together with other high European officials. Pahor has also announced he would be holidaying in Croatia.
