Finance Minister Uroš Čufer presented the priorities of the new government, while the ministers also discussed the findings of the European Commission regarding the excessive macroeconomic imbalances in Slovenia, Dijsselbloem told the press.

According to him, there was agreement that the government needed to take prompt and determined action and first of all restore trust in the banking sector and its resilience.

However, it will be necessary to wait for more detailed assessments until the end of the month, when the European Commission will present its evaluation of Slovenia's reform and stability programmes. The Eurogroup will then debate this in June.

Meanwhile, European Monetary Affairs Commissioner Olli Rehn said the programmes contained encouraging concrete solutions for several key challenges, but also added it was too soon to say whether the planned measures were sufficient.
