The two presidents also agreed that Serbia deserved to be given a date for the launch of negotiations on accession to the EU, Tanjug reported on Friday on the content of the meeting that took place in Belgrade on Wednesday, citing Nikolić's office.

The two presidents reportedly established that their countries' positions matched completely, especially on the awarding of the date for the start of accession talks with the EU.

Pahor and Nikolić last held a brief meeting in March on the margins of the inauguration of Pope Francis.
