Adria Airways Cancels Flight ahead of French Air Control Strike

While air traffic controllers in Belgium, Hungary, Italy and Portugal will stage symbolic campaigns to show support for their French colleagues, Slovenian air traffic controllers will not join in, the Air Traffic Control has told the STA.

Adria Airways has cancelled its Wednesday flight from Paris. All passengers are advised to contact Adria Airways' call centre.

Ahead of the strike in France, carriers flying to airports in Paris, Lyon, Nice, Marseilles, Toulouse and Bordeaux were requested to halve the number of flights to these destinations in the coming three days.

The strike will be staged just as EU Transport Commissioner Siim Kallas is scheduled to present on Tuesday the plans to speed up the overhaul that would see some air control tasks transferred onto Eurocontrol, European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation.
