EuroBasket 2013 director Aleš Križnar presented the first official ticket for the European championships which will be hosted by Slovenia from 4 to 22 September as part of an event to mark the signing of a sponsorship agreement with telco Telekom Slovenije.

The tickets by ticketing agent Eventim feature EuroBasket livery and are meant to be a collector's item, Križnar said.

Among the features of the ticket is a special relief element in the shape of Slovenia. The tickets will also come with a sleeve that will feature the full tournament schedule, EuroBasket officials told the press.

Tickets for the first round of the tournament will go on sale on 1 July, while those for the final stage of the tournament have been on sale since March but are virtually sold out.

Meanwhile, the promotion of the tournament continues outside of Slovenia's borders, with events taking place this week in Montenegro and Belgium.

The Montenegrin capital of Podgorica was visited on Wednesday by a EuroBasket delegation featuring tournament ambassador Ivo Daneu and organising staff. Daneu met Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovič and took part in a press conference in the city to present details of the tournament.

The tournament was also presented in Brussels on Tuesday and Wednesday as part of events organised by the Slovenian Embassy in Brussels and the country's missions to the EU and NATO.

As part of efforts to promote the biggest sporting event in Slovenia's history, the organisers have released the second issue of the official EuroBasket 2013 magazine in June which is available in Slovenian and English in hard and online editions (http://www.kzs.si/magazin).
