The preliminary round of the tournament which starts on 4 September will feature 24 teams competing in four groups of six playing in Celje, Jesenice, Koper and Ljubljana.

Tickets will be sold by ticketing agency Eventim, while purchases will be limited to four tickets per game per person, the organisers said on Friday.

The tickets for the final stages of the European Basketball Championships have been on sale since March. With the exception of the final, they are still available, the organisers have said.
