The letter will be sent to the Basel-based BIS in three days, Slovenian Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec said after meeting his Croatian counterpart Vesna Pusić at Strmol Castle near the city of Kranj.

Erjavec and Pusić arrived at the meeting each with their own draft of the letter only to reach agreement on its contents and sign it at the meeting, which was also attended by financial experts for the defunct Slovenian LB bank, Slovenia's France Arhar and Croatia's Zdravko Rogić.

However, a letter addressed to all foreign ministers of successors states urging them to resume succession talks under the sponsorship of BIS will be sent by Erjavec himself, the Slovenian minister told the press after the meeting at Cerklje na Gorenjskem.

The letters are meant to bring a prompt solution to the issue of foreign currency deposits that Croatian citizens used to have at LB in Croatia. A solution would be sought as part of succession talks as agreed by Slovenia and Croatia in a March 2013 memorandum on the LB issue.
