Bringing together many scientists from the most prestigious institutions worldwide, the congress is one of the most important events in the field of scientific research on cultural heritage.

It will present the latest findings in the field of Raman Spectroscopy in Art and Archaeology and dedicate a special attention to young researchers.

In five days, the congress will feature more than 50 lectures, and present some of the research papers as posters.

The congress will be organised by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, which hopes it will offer an opportunity to establish international links, exchange experience and opinions, and create new research projects.

Raman spectroscopic techniques have a pivotal role in the non-destructive chemical analysis of materials relevant to art and archaeology. The techniques are nowadays also indispensable in determining the provenance and authenticity of objects of archaeological and historical importance.
