Football: Slovenia Lose Friendly against Finland
The first goal of the game, which saw Slovenia playing without several standard starting lineup members, came in the 35th minute, when Ajax defender Niklas Moisander made perfect use of a pass supplied by Teemu Tainio. Kasper Hämäläinen made it 2:0 in the 84th minute.
Slovenia came closest to scoring in the 28th minute when a header by striker Tim Matavž was stopped only by the goalpost.
The defeat comes after two consecutive wins - against Turkey in a friendly in May and against Iceland away in the June qualifier for the World Cup in Brazil.
The team, which has two wins and six points from seven games so far, has four more games to play in the qualifying campaign, the first one against Albania on home turf on 6 September.
