Contributing to the August index were more optimistic expectations of consumers regarding the financial situation in households, economic situation in Slovenia and unemployment in the coming 12 months.

Each of the three indicators were up four percentage points compared to July, while only the value of the indicator measuring the expected spending of money on major purchases in the coming 12 months was down.

Consumers were also more confident about savings. The value of the relevant indicator in August increased by 6 percentage points compared to July, by one point compared to last year's average and nine points compared to August 2012.
