The spectacle took place on a 40x20m raft anchored 300m off Koper and was observed by the sponsors of EuroBasket 2013 and the media from a boat attached to the raft.

The three matches of two halves lasting 10 minutes featured 30 retired basketball stars from the three countries.

The Croatian ex-star team beat the Italian team 20-12 and the Slovenian team 28-18. The Slovenian former stars beat the Italians 27-23.

The responses of the participants were full of praise for the organisers.

Dino Radja, who put together the winning team said he never thought he would ever play basketball at sea and that the excellently organised event was an exceptional promotion of Slovenia and EuroBasket.

EuroBasket 2013 will take place between 4 and 22 September in Ljubljana, Celje, Jesenice and Koper.
