The poll, released on Monday, also shows the approval rating of the parliamentary parties sliding overall.

The coalition Democrats (SD) went to 11.4% in September from 16.3% in June, while the opposition Democrats (SDS) slipped to 9.4% from 13.3%.

The ruling Positive Slovenia (PS) lost 0.3 points to 6%, while the coalition Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) is the only party to have gained ground, adding 0.4 points to 4.4%.

All other parties are below the 4% threshold.

The undecided vote (those who picked none of the parties or answered with do not know), swelled from 38% in June to over 50% in September.

Taking into account only the decided voters, the SD would pick up 30.9%, the SDS 25.4% and the PS 16.1% of the vote.

The pollsters also enquired about political staffing, with almost 58% saying it has remained at the same level under Prime Minister Alenka BratuĊĦek.

Just under 18% believe it has decreased and 12% said it has increased compared to the previous governments.

The telephone poll included 903 respondents and was carried out between 9 and 13 September.
