Participants will be addressed by PM Alenka Bratušek, Finance Minister Uroš Čufer, Interior Minister Gregor Virant and EBRD director general for Central and SE Europe Jean-Marc Peterschmitt, among others.
The forth FDI summit will be hosted by the Ljubljana Economics Faculty, featuring seven panels and around 30 speakers.
Some 200 guests from Slovenia and abroad are expected, announced the Economics Faculty and The Slovenia Times, a Slovenian English-language paper, which organise the event.
The plan is to focus the debate on a clear future in order to stress that Slovenia does not need endless and often self-destructive political debates. It needs immediate action, meaning an active economic policy and the adoption of urgent structural changes.
The morning segment of the conference will look at whether the measures adopted are restoring Slovenia's credibility as regards privatisation, while the need for en efficient public sector will be discussed as well.
The questions why Slovenia is worth investing into, how to successfully promote the country and how to transfer the winning mentality of Slovenia's athletes to the economy will be addressed in the afternoon.
Foreign investment will be a traditional topic of the conference, with foreigners continuing to praise Slovenia's infrastructure, tax policy and the workforce, while criticising excessive red tape.
