Telecommunications Revenues Dropped in 2012
The biggest part of the revenue from electronic communications - 36% or EUR 435m - was accounted for by public mobile services.
Landline telephony services accounted for EUR 233m or 19% of the total revenue; while inter-network connections generated EUR 139m in revenue or 11% of total revenue in electronic communication.
Accounting for 33% or EUR 405m of total revenue is the segment other revenue, which also includes revenues generated by broadband internet access services.
While total turnover dropped by 1%, the revenues generated by public telephony services was down 15% by EUR 76m in 2012 compared to 2011. The revenues generated by inter-network connections dropped by 18% or EUR 30m.
Revenues from landline telephony services on the other hand increased by 22% or EUR 43m and so did other revenues, which went up by 13% or EUR 46m.
More than 5,600 people worked in the industry in 2012, which was 4% less than the year before, statistics show.
