A multi-instrumentalist playing also the bass and keyboard, Mitchell is a much sought-after musician who has played with giants such as James Brown, Javier Vargas, Carlos Santana, Duddy Guy and Prince.

The festival will continue in November with a concert by guitarist Eric Gales, while guitarist and singer Mike Wheeler from Chicago is expected in Slovenia in March.

The festival will culminate in April with legendary US musician Guitar Shorty, who is known for his explosive guitar style.

Under the artistic directorship of music critic Borut Bašin, the festival has gained in popularity, attracting a number of blues lovers who keep returning to Postojna from across Slovenia.

The festival is organised by Postojnska jama, the company which manages the world-famous Postojna Caves.
