Slovenia 24th Most Prosperous Country
Slovenia received high marks for education, placing ninth in the world as a result of increases in net primary enrolment, gross secondary and tertiary enrolment, and secondary education per worker.
It is ranked 12th in terms of safety and security, 23rd in entrepreneurship and opportunity and 26th in health.
However, it has slipped nineteen places over the past five years in the economy ratings, placing 53rd due to decreases in gross domestic savings and high-tech exports, alongside increases in unemployment and non-performing loans.
While 24th overall, Slovenia places 16th in Europe. Norway, Switzerland and Canada top the global chart.
The index is released by the London-based Legatum Institute.
