A total of 694 projects with at least one Slovenian organisation were granted EU funding through the 7th framework programme, which included 865 scientists and other participants from Slovenia.
Slovenian organisations coordinated 49 of these projects.
The biggest users of these funds in Slovenia are the Jožef Stefan Institute (IJS), the Chemistry Institute, and the Ljubljana and Maribor universities.
The ministry added that Slovenian projects were more successful in drawing EU funds in this period than in the 2002-2006 sixth framework programme, in which EUR 76.4m was granted to Slovenian R&D.
The seventh framework programme will be followed in the 2014-2020 period by the Horizon 2020 programme, which will offer a total of EUR 80bn or 30% more than was available in the past seven years.
