Nova Gorica gets skate park
For a long time, skaters in Slovenia were longing for a decent concrete park in their country. Regarding skate parks, it can be said that Slovenia is not really on the forefront in Europe, the capital Ljubljana only provides one outdoor skate park.
But times are changing: the new venue in Nova Gorica will be the biggest park in Slovenia and it is entirely made out of concrete. Local skaters are stoked. One of them, Davor Miljkovic, was heavily involved in the planning of the new skate park. In an interview, he claims that the park will open its doors to the public in mid december and will also be admission free.
For skate culture in Slovenia, the new concrete park is a big step forward. Maybe other cities will follow the example of Nova Gorica? I really hope so.
