Slovenian Caritas said in a press release that the international Caritas network had helped 275,000 people or 55,000 households from the nine islands that were hit the worst.

So far a total of EUR 2.1m had been sent to the Philippines by Caritas Internationalis.

The most funds are needed for the setting up of temporary housing, as nearly four million people have not yet been able to return to their homes after typhoon Haiyan damaged more than a million houses.
