President Addresses Troops Abroad Before Holidays
Pahor said that he has heard a lot of praise of the work of Slovenian troops participating in international missions while in South Africa for the memorial service of Nelson Mandela.
Commanders of more than 400 troops stationed in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Lebanon reported to the president about their work.
The president inquired whether the troops were happy with the equipment they use and commanders agreed they were using top equipment.
He moreover wanted to know how the civil war in Syria affected the work of Slovenian troops in Lebanon. Major Uroš Trinko said that the situation in Syria affected Lebanon and the entire region, therefore most of the tasks of Slovenian troops focused on Syrian refugees.
