Tina Maze Still Without "Winning" Feelings in 2014
The 18-year-old Shiffrin led after the opening run and clocked a two-leg combined time of 2 minutes, 0.41 seconds down the Stelvio course. Maria Pietilae-Holmner of Sweden finished second, 0.13 seconds behind, and Nastasia Noens of France moved up from 13th after the first run to finish third, 0.62 back.
Shiffrin was only 0.01 ahead of Pietilae-Holmner at the final checkpoint but she excelled on the steep finishing gates to gain back some time.
Tina Maze started with bid number 2 and showed solid performance in the first run but obviosly she has huge problem with comprehensive "mental" preparation for the races. In the second run she was just too pasive, she just didn't show enough "desire" and energy to be competitive with the best slalom racers of the season. Tina has now appx one month to "put the things in her head in the right place" and prepare for Olymic games in Sochi.
