EU Mission Checking Slovenia's Finances
The European Commission Representation told the STA on Wednesday that the mission would visit the ministries of finance, justice and labour, the central bank, the government's forecasting think-tank IMAD, and the Court of Audit between Tuesday and Friday.
The EU has been monitoring Slovenia as part of its role of keeping tabs on member states' fiscal policy.
Slovenia was warned about "serious imbalances" in May 2012, with the Commission highlighting corporate debt, bank stability and competitiveness as areas that need to be tackled.
Similar warnings have been voiced since then, though the banking sector problems were largely addressed with the bank bailout in late December.
