The conference will also be addressed by Foreign Minister Karl Erjavec and senior officials from the Finance Ministry, the manager of state assets SOD and the SPIRIT agency for the promotion of entrepreneurship, investment and tourism.
The officials will present the latest privatisation efforts and some concrete investment and business opportunities to potential Turkish investors. Two Turkish investors already present in Slovenia will present their experience.
Turkey is considered a priority market for Slovenian companies because of the robust economic growth. The trade between the countries has been increasing in recent years with potential for business cooperation in all sectors of economy. Merchandise trade topped EUR 430m in 2012.
Pahor will arrive to Istanbul from Ankara, where he met his counterpart Abdullah Gül on Wednesday. The pair praised bilateral relations, but also agreed there was still untapped potential to boost business ties, especially in investment. Pahor also met PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who expressed interest in Slovenia's privatisation.
