Van Rompuy and Bratušek will debate topics which will dominate the March EU summit, namely the European semester, industrial policy, energy and climate goals.

Measures to kick-start economic growth and employment as well as other topical EU issues will be also on their agenda, UKOM said on Monday.

Van Rompuy has visited Slovenia five times, the first time soon after he was appointed the first EU president, in December 2009.

His last visit to Ljubljana was in May 2012.
