Slovenia Records 2.3% Rise in Number of Tourists

The number of foreign tourists was up by 4.4%, and they generated 2.8% more overnight stays than in 2012. Foreign guests accounted for 67% of all arrivals and 62% of all overnight stays.

On the other hand, the number of Slovenian guests decreased by 1.6% and the number of overnight stays they generated was down by 3.4% year-on-year.

The number of tourists in December 2013 was up by 3.9% year-on-year, and the number of overnight stays increased by 0.5%.

The number of foreign tourists in December was up by 5.7%, and they generated 1.6% more overnight stays than in December 2012.

Foreigners accounted for 53% of all overnight stays in December. The biggest share of foreign tourists came from Italy (34%), followed by Austria (12%), Croatia (11%) and Germany and Russia (5% each).
