The SDS gained almost 4 percentage points to 15.6%, while the SocDems lost 2.5 percentage points to 9.5%. The junior coalition party has been losing ground since the December poll, when they had a 15.2% rating.

The ruling Positive Slovenia (PS) kept the third place with 6.4% despite dropping from 8.9% in February.

Only two more parties are above the 4% parliamentary threshold, with the coalition Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) taking fourth place with 5.9%, followed by the resurging opposition People's Party (5.2%).

The coalition Citizens' List (DL) has gained somewhat but is still at only 3.4%, while the opposition New Slovenia (NSi) is last among the parliamentary parties with 3.2%.

The non-parliamentary Solidarity party was meanwhile picked by 2.6% of the 659 respondents polled by Delo's in-house pollster Delo Stik between 3 and 6 March.

The average mark for the government on a 1-to-5 scale was 2.34, down compared to last month (2.46). The government of Alenka Bratušek enjoys the support of 24.5% of the respondents, almost level on the previous month.

The National Assembly also saw its average mark drop, to 2.24 from 2.26.

President Borut Pahor remains at the top of Delo's list of the most popular politicians, followed by Agriculture and Environment Minister Dejan Židan and European Environment Commissioner Janez Potočnik.
