Real Estate Tax "Salving Operation": Extended Deadline for Corrections of Property Records
Owners will now have until the end of April to correct the records, Infrastructure and Spatial Planning Minister Samo Omerzel told the press on Tuesday.
The government will also carry out its plan to impose a single 0.15% tax rate for all residential real estate, said the minister.
The first attempt to introduce the single tax rate was thrown out by a parliamentary committee last week because the government wanted to include the proposal in a non-fiscal act, which was opposed by the parliamentary legal department.
"This will now be regulated in a systemic law. When and how the law will be changed depends on them. But there is no doubt, this will be carried out," said the minister.
The Finance Ministry told the STA on Monday that it was still too early to comment on the planned changes.
The implementation of real estate tax has been stayed by the Constitutional Court until the court rules on petitions challenging the law. The court is to make a decision by the end of the month.
