Nekategorizirano

The Slovenia - Guest of Honour at the Frankfurt International Book Fair project is one of the central goals in the field in the National Culture Programme 2014-2017. The project aims to make Slovenia's creativity more recognisable in the world.

It will moreover help boost economic ties with Germany, Slovenia's top trade partner, according to the Government Communication Office.

The project is designed to bring together cultural, economic and tourism sectors with goals such as boosting trade with authors' rights, increasing the number of translations of Slovenian books into German and English as well as making Slovenia more recognisable as a tourist destination.

The public Book Agency (JAK) will oversee the project and try to get funds from outside the budget. The collected money will go for presentations of Slovenia, as part of which Slovenia will launch an info office in cooperation with the Slovenian Embassy in Germany.

The Frankfurt Book Fair, running in October, is the biggest book fair in the world. Over 7,000 exhibitors attracted some 275,342 visitors last year.
