The 28-year-old point guard, who made the all-tournament team at the 2013 European Championships in Slovenia and can look back at a stellar season for the Phoenix Suns, made his decision official on Monday.

He initially hesitated, mentioning fatigue, while his NBA team was unofficially also not too keen on seeing Dragić attend what is already his third Basketball World Cup.

"It is true that I first wanted to take time for recovery and for my family, but the one-month break has allowed me to regain my strength and take a final decision," said Dragić, who has moreover helped the Slovenian team at four European championships so far.
