While electing a new parliament is not enough to pull Slovenian out of the crisis, it is a basic condition, the president said.

Pahor believes it is very possible that the new government will be remembered for ending the crisis and starting a new development cycle.

But this is far from self-evident. "The first step are successful elections, which will show our sufficiently clear political will about who and how should do this."

"Let us not hesitate. Let us choose and entrust this mission and responsibility to the one we trust," said Pahor, who feels that the general situation is far from good but could be improved substantially by this election.

"Rarely is our decision as citizens of such groundbreaking importance...Good luck Slovenia," the president concluded his address.
