The first leg of the Maribor-Celtic FC matchup will be played on 19 or 20 August, with the return leg scheduled for 26 or 27 August.

Celtic FC have won the Scottish League Championship on 45 occasions, the Scottish Cup 36 times, and were the European champions in 1967 as the only Scottish club in history to manage the feat.

If the Slovenian champions manage to beat the Scottish powerhouse in two legs, they will qualify for Europe's top club competition for the second time in history.

Maribor has already secured participation in the second-tier UEFA Europa League by virtue of qualifying for the play-off round of the Champions League qualifiers.
