Industrial Output Up 2.7% in First Six Months
Owing the most to the increase in the first half of the year is an 6.5% increase in the supply of electricity, gas and steam.
Year-on-year, sales revenues were up by 3.1%, increasing by 9.4% in mining and quarrying and by 3.5% in manufacturing.
In June alone, output in manufacturing was up by 1.8%, while it was down in the supply of electricity, gas and steam (2.7%) and in mining and quarrying (9.4%).
Output at the monthly level was up the most in the segment of other vehicles and vessels, by 9.2%, and in the production of beverages, by 8.8%.
Sales revenues in June were also up compared to May, by 1.9%. Domestic demand has been stagnating in the last 12 months, while foreign demand is on the increase, the Statistics Office said.
The value of inventories was meanwhile down in June by 1%, with inventories in manufacturing decreasing by 1% and in mining and quarrying by 7.4%.
