Mramor, currently a professor at the Ljubljana Economics Faculty, served as finance minister between 2002 and 2004 in the government of Anton Rop.

Between 2007 and 2013 he was dean of the faculty and in 2000-2002 and 2009-2013 the chair of the managing board of the University in Ljubljana.

His fields of expertise include business finances, financial markets, financial analysis, investments and macro finances.

The new government will probably comprise 15 ministries. The prospective junior coalition partner Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) is to get at least four departments, while the Social Democrats (SD) are looking to get three.

Talks on the formation of ministries and ministerial candidates are still under way.
