Eurogroup Confirms Commission Budget Assessment
We welcome the Slovenian commitment to this effect," the statement by the eurogroup moreover reads, echoing last week's assessment by the Commission.
The Commission also called on Slovenia to speed up the implementation of the structural part of fiscal recommendations issued to the country, in particular the implementation of the fiscal rule of a balanced budget and a comprehensive review of public spending in health.
The ministers - Slovenia's DuĊĦan Mramor was represented by State Secretary Irena Sodin due to health reasons - announced today that "a full assessment of the transposition of the fiscal compact into national law will be concluded by mid-2015".
Also pertinent for Slovenia is the message of the eurogroup that it is "encouraged to see that the member states identified as having excessive imbalances have made significant progress in addressing them".
