The record surplus comes after a EUR 540.7m surplus in the second quarter and as a result of a 6.5% increase in exports of goods and services at the annual level. Imports increased by 5%.

The surplus in the trade of goods and service increased by 20% or EUR 144.7m year-on-year to EUR 858.7m.

The positive trend in Slovenia's transactions with the rest of the world began in 2010, which marked a complete turn from previously high deficits. In the last pre-crisis year, 2008, the deficit amounted to almost EUR 1.96bn.
