Ljubljana – The United States has made another donation to Slovenia to help it contain the Covid-19 epidemic, a EUR 270,000-worth shipment of containers delivered to the Slovenian Administration for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief on Wednesday.
The donation includes 15 living containers, four containers with sanitary facilities and a refrigerated container for the storage of bodies. It is the largest single donation of material resources to contain the spread of Covid-19 in Slovenia this year, the Defence Ministry said.
The US Embassy in Ljubljana said the donation was intended to increase the ability to respond to a variety of potential crises, including the current pandemic.
“These specially designed containers provide portable work, storage, and treatment space that will initially be used to enhance Covid-19 testing capabilities and sample storage capacity for medical and research institutes,” it said on Twitter.
Earlier this year the US donated portable disinfection devices to multiple hospitals and aged-care homes.
